Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between ethics and politics as it was initially stated by Aristotle in the first two paragraphs (1094a-1094b10) of the Nicomachean Ethics first Book. In the beginning I looked at the anteriority relation as an explanatory pattern used by Aristotle to sketch the link between the political body of the city and the individual citizen. The aim was to clarify the two kinds of anteriority relation, natural and logic, and to explain the role of phronesis as a common ground for politics and morality. I endorse an integrative interpretation of eudaimonia and I conclude that politics is the space in which personal moral endeavors take place.
