6. Ethical responsibilities

The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophy Series is fully committed to support, apply, and disseminate principles of scientific deontology and integrity. We do not publish authors that have been confronted previously with accusations of unethical or questionable behavior in academic practice.

Authors should refrain from misrepresenting research results which could damage the reputation of our journal and our professional etiquette.

  • The manuscript should not be submitted to other journal for consideration.
  • The submitted work should be original.
  • Authors should explicitly specify if they have re-used materials published previously elsewhere: we condemn self-plagiarism.
  • Results should be honestly exposed, avoiding manipulation and data falsification.
  • The journal may use a software to screen the articles for plagiarism (this evaluation can be performed either by the editorial board or by the publishing press).
  • Excessive and inappropriate self-citation are strongly discouraged.

Depending on the situation, if the plagiarism analysis reveals that the text is not original and the author has committed unethical behavior, we reserve the right to reject the manuscript. The author`s institution may be informed.

We expect that all authors assume ethical responsibility for submitted articles, not only corresponding authors.

Those articles of applied ethics that might involve human participants and/or  animals, should be accompanied by a statement of compliance with ethical standards. At submission, authors are also requested to disclose interests. All these statements and disclosures should be included in the “Title page”.
